![]() ![]() I have been testing Vivaldi recently (over a month) and it is an amazing browser with a very friendly community. And feel free to post a comment about this :).I have been using Opera for a very long time (More than a decade) and it has always been my primary browser, but since the company was acquired by Kunlun Tech Limited, i have been concerned over my privacy and the future of Opera. Magnanimous king I am, I give you the right to try those browsers by yourself and make your own opinion ^^. I will use it everyday and maybe make an update :).Įverything i'm saying is according to me, i'm giving MY point of view, and not imposing it. AI Integrations, idea stolen from Edge.A Gesturefy-like plugin stolen from FireFox.OVERALL:Ī really amazing mix between my favorite browsers: It would have been cool if you could have different Speed Dial according to your workspace, but it is what it is I guess. It's kind of sad you cannot add the Opera.GX tab.Īs almost every browsers today, shreds both RAM and CPU. The Gesturefy-like isn't customizable for now, and is kind of hard to use, if your lines aren't perfect, your circle made with a compass, or your square made with perfects 90° angles, it just won't do nothing. Looks modern and totally abandon any thoughts about being minimalist. It currently has a lot of bugs (if you click a bit under or upper the tabs, it will click behind sometime it just lags out of nowhere.) It's still in developpment, so it will have frequent updates to do. It's helps you not get messy with your tabs, and it looks cool lol. It is very practical to use and is very intuitive, it's sidebar is a bit chunky but it's useful and easy to configure. It has every extensions you want from both Opera and Chrome store, even has a Gesturefy-like plugin integrated in it. I mean, it's not slow, you won't be amazed by it's speed, but you won't be bothered at all on this point, not like Min. It is less customizable than Vivaldi, but it's also a good point as it is not drawing back on it's speed and is easier to use. It has the only reason people use Edge, ChatGPT integration (it's a joke, but I kind of mean it lol). PROS:Īt first sight, I was already in-love, it looks like Vivaldi, but with a more modern touch. (But if we forget that issue, it's probably my favorite browser next to Opera GX).Īnd so today, I heard about Opera One, and wanted to give it a try. Watching youtube in 1440p feels like 720p at most, it was unbearable, but I had to stick to it because I had nothing better overall. Looks dope, heavily customizable yet pretty easy to use, there are some pretty useful widgets that can help in day-to-day usage like the Gesturefy-like plugin.īut it's slow, you trade beauty to speed (but it's still usable, far from being the slowest).īut I also had a massive drawback, I have absolutely no clue why, but it has a disgusting compression (on my PC, idk about others), oversaturated and pixelated graphics on it. I guess if dev's increase it's performances, add extension's compatibility, and make it less confusing, it would be a pretty good browser, but for now, it sleeps in my trashcan. It's also one of the slowest I've ever seen (on Windows, idk about Mac), even without extensions (because yeah, even if it's Chromium-based, you can't download any extensions). It has a minimalist design and it simply looks amazing, but it has a massive drawback: It is TOO MUCH minimalist, you get confused using it, also because it's very unintuitive to use at first. I tried Min, I found it both appealing and confusing at the same time. Opera One / GX, so I kept it under my hand just in case, but also wanted to see his concurrents too. I tried FireFox, I know it's heavily customizable with CSS files (I see you r/FireFoxCSS), but it's very hard to do, it asks knowledge not everyone has, and base look is just meh, sometime I was pissed about not being able to download Chrome's extensions, and is "kind of" slow in comparaison to Opera GX: far from being the worst, probably even my second favorite browser behind. I don't say it's a bad browser, it has a decent speed, and BingAI is ultra cool, but I really cannot bear it, no matter how hard I try. I tried Edge, lacks customization and looks like garbage. it kept crashing because of insuffisent memory, even with 32GB of RAM, to load a 50s 480p YouTube video I should upgrade to 64GB I guess lol, and stuff like that, so I had to search for a new browser. I've recently been betrayed by my beloved Opera GX, I was having the time of my life until one day. ![]()
